Art in the Dark

Art in the Dark

If you’re like many people in the San Antonio area, you absolutely love art. Going to museums, galleries, and other art showings is just so exciting. But have you ever thought about what that experience would be like if you were blind? People who are blind experience and enjoy art in different ways, and it’s great to get an inside look into how they experience art. But just how should you go about doing that? Well, it’s as easy as can be when you come out to support a great cause at Art in the Dark. Learn more about this exciting event, and get ready to “see” art in a completely new light.

Event Details

If this event sounds interesting to you, you’ll want to make plans to attend as soon as possible. It’s all happening on Tuesday, June 18. It will begin at 6:30 p.m. and will end at 9 p.m., and it’s all taking place at LaVillita Assembly Hall. Since this is conveniently located in town, it shouldn’t be hard for you to get there to enjoy the event. Tickets are $50 in advance, but they will be $60 if you wait to purchase at the door.

What’s It All About?

Are you wondering how you are going to experience art in the dark? Basically, all of the artwork will be draped with cloths so you can’t see what the pieces really look like. So, how are you even going to experience it? Well, unlike most art shows, you can actually feel and touch the artwork when you come out to Art in the Dark. While you won’t be able to see any of the pieces, you can learn about how they feel. This will allow you to use different senses to appreciate the beauty in all of these pieces. How much fun is that?
