Hot dogs for game day

Though summertime is the favorite time of year for many people in San Antonio, TX, if you’re a football fanatic, you can’t wait for fall. The season is in full swing during these months. Whether you’re a college or pro fan, or both, you count down the days, hours, and minutes to game day each week. If you can’t make it to the stadium and are watching at home, you can have plenty of fun with these party ideas.

Bingo

Everyone knows the game of bingo, so why not incorporate it into the football game you’re watching? You can make the cards yourself and add elements of football onto the squares. Ideas of squares include “touchdown,” “first down,” “field goal,” “penalty,” and “timeout.” You can put numbers on the card, too, allowing participants to cover a square when a team reaches that point total during the game.

Balloons

You don’t have to go to great lengths to create a festive atmosphere for your game day party. At a birthday celebration, you would probably include balloons. You can do the same when you watch your favorite team play this weekend. Choose the colors of the team you’re rooting for. You can even use a white pen to write or draw on the balloon fun messages to get you in the cheering spirit.

Not Your Average Cooler

You need a place to keep you refreshments cold. Sure, a standard cooler would work; however, why not get creative? Decorate a small tub to look like part of a football field. For instance, you can use spray paint or even artificial turf on the container. Paint PVC pipe yellow and arrange to form a goalpost. Then, fill the tub with ice and put in the drinks.

Football Field Tablecloth or Cover

For your party, you will surely gather around the table or counter to enjoy a pre-game or during-the-game meal or snack. Cover the surface with green felt. Then, use white duct tape to mark the yard lines. Using white vinyl, you can cut out the numbers for the field.

Make the next game day a memorable one — and not just because of the game itself. Add some extra elements by incorporating these ideas into your viewing party.
