Fall time brings cooler weather, beautiful changing colors, and the back-to-school season. For sports fans, this is also a busy, exciting time of year. For example, football season gets underway, and baseball is winding down. If you can’t get to the stadium to watch your favorite team, you can still enjoy the action by holding a viewing party and checking out the game on TV. Make sure to include some food for you and your guests.
Fully Loaded Nachos
Nachos are synonymous with ballparks and stadiums. Likewise, you can create a fun game-day atmosphere by creating a nacho dish of your own. If you’ve used to sticking to chips and cheese, step up your game by adding other toppings. Throw on some beans and two different kinds of salsa, and you have yourself a deluxe nacho dish. But you can go all out and make the salsa yourself or purchase pico de gallo yourself. Tomatillo avocado salsa goes great with this finger food. The nachos are perfect as an appetizer, snack, or even as the main part of the meal, for instance.
Peppercorn Chicken Wings
You don’t have to go to a sports bar to watch the big game, and you don’t have to go there for tantalizing wings either. This excellent dish has the following ingredients:
- 2 tablespoons black peppercorns
- 2 tablespoons diamond crystal or 1 tablespoon kosher salt
- 1 tablespoon ground coriander
- 1 tablespoon ground cumin
- ½ teaspoon baking soda
- 1 ½ teaspoons garam masala or Chinese five-spice powder
- ½ teaspoon sugar
- 3 pounds chicken wings
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 scallions
- 1 lime
Start by crushing the peppercorns in a baking dish and then putting them in a large bowl. Add the salt, coriander, garam masala, cumin, baking soda, and sugar to the bowl and mix well. You’ll then put in the chicken wings and oil and coat them well with the spices. Place the coated wings on a foil-lined baking dish. Make sure they are spaced evenly. Chill the wings in the fridge for at least an hour, uncovered. Next, remove the wings from the fridge and bake for 30 to 40 minutes at 425 degrees. Halfway through the baking cycle, turn the wings over. Lastly, broil each side of the wings for a few minutes, and then enjoy!

Artichoke Dip
There are lots of possibilities for watch party meals. On the other hand, you can’t have a watch party without a good dip. Artichoke dip is perfect for chips, crackers, and veggies. It makes a nice appetizer as you warm up for the main course. Mix together the following:
- 2 cans of artichokes
- 2 cups mayonnaise
- 1 small can of pimentos
- 2 cloves minced garlic
- 2 small cans of green chiles
- 1 cup Parmesan cheese
- Dash of red pepper flakes, salt, and pepper
Furthermore, after you mix all of these together in a large bowl, you have an awesome dip that you can enjoy throughout the game — if it lasts that long.
Your watch parties are always a hit. However, the next one can be even better when you include these fantastic snacks. Most importantly, try one this weekend.
