Books
Reading is a great way to pass the time during long hours on the road. Take your kid to the local library before you head out on your journey so they can pick out their own books. There are all sorts of fun things you can do on the road for entertainment without buying anything at all. Play the typical license plate game where you look for vehicles registered in specific states. Look for cars of a certain color or a certain manufacturer. Play I Spy with your surroundings. Everyone in the car can get involved in these fun little games!
