Good news for a capella fans. Pentatonix: The World Tour is coming to San Antonio! Purchase your tickets today and catch the quintet’s spectacular live show at the AT&T Center on May 23. The show kicks off at 7:30 and will feature an opening performance from singer/songwriter Rachel Platten, who will be touring with the group through July.
For nearly a decade, this Texas-based collective has been wowing crowds with their perfect harmonies, soaring vocals, and pop-style arrangements. They made their debut in 2011 as the third season winners of NBC’s The Sing Off, which brought them nationwide attention and served as the launch pad to their highly successful career. To date, Pentatonix has released 7 studio albums, 5 extended plays, and 18 singles. Their 2014 holiday album That’s Christmas To Me went double platinum and was the 4th best selling record of that year.
Aside from their Grammy Award-winning albums, Pentatonix is also an online viral sensation. Their YouTube account boasts over 14 million subscribers and includes numerous viral videos of both original songs and popular covers. Some of their most notable releases include a heart-wrenching rendition of Leonard Cohen’s famous “Hallelujah” and a beautifully haunting performance of the Christmas classic “Mary, Did You Know?”. In 2013, they published a Daft Punk tributed which has over 300 million views today.
